I’m not a big DC fan.  Everything I know about The Green Lantern, his corps, and all the other color lanterns I learned from New Frontier and the “Sinestro Corps” storyline.  I’ve heard the podcasts recommending the rise of Sinestro storyline, but I just never got around to reading it.

I’m also not a fan of “Final Crisis”.  Heard all the hooplah about how it contradicted a lot of “Countdown” (which I didn’t read, anyway), and the first two issues didn’t grab me enough to get me reading.

That said, I’m totally loving most of the side story-arcs that “Final Crisis”  has spawned.  I loved “Requiem”, “Revelations”, and “Rogue’s Revenge” was the first time I found myself caring about The Flash’s rogue gallery.  So I was very excited about the release of “Rage Of The Red Lanterns”.

I was not let down.  The art is perfect for the story.  The red overwhelms the pages at just the right times, taking away the utter blackness that swallows you into many of the other pages.

Can’t wait for issue two.  Though, given the late release dates for much of the “Final Crisis” stories, I probably will.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent

  1. The correct thing to say would be "Countdown contradicted a lot of Final Crisis."

  2. Well, they contradicted each other, certainly.
