I remember that Brian Michael Bendis once said that villains book really do not work and this issue gives the reason why.  To have a good story you need a likeable protagonist or a really good story. Run has neither. Its about a c-list villain the Human flame who is on the run from the entire DCU. You honestly have no sympathy for this character. He is deplorable, a bully and an ass hole. In one issue he beats up a nurse, steal his ex-wifes car, made his daughter cry, hid in a playground during a shoot out, his guys is an asshole. At least the a list villain are bad asses this guys a coward.  This is the first character I want to see get shot in the face.  Even though the art is pretty good the character and the story suck. I feel sorry for sturges, he seem to be delt a no win situation

    I have to disagree with you on this. Yes he is a deplorable character. Yes he is completely unlikeable. But I think that is the point. You’re not supposed to have sympathy for him. This is the guy that caused the death of J’onn J’onz, the most likeable JLA member there is. J’onn didn’t deserved the death he received. So in contrast the guy who caused it should be someone you absolutely hate. This is what makes the story so good. I like the character because I hate him. I want to see him get his in the end. But because he is able to survive makes him a good villain. He may be a C-Villain now but I think in time he may be one of the greats. Cause no one can extiguish the human flame.

    @miroshua i just cant rationalize buying a monthly book about a character that is realy this rotten. Joker is fun crazy, human flame is just an ass

    I agree with mrjoshua, the purpose of this book is to hate the Human Flame.  A sotry can still be enjoyable if it is about how a villain gets his commupence.  And he is very hairy!
