I think of all the Fear Itself tie-ins the Speedball story in this has delivered what Fraction was promising on wordballoon, I am probably the only person reading this though! The art is realistic and great and explores the relationship between the careless destruction dished out by heroes and villains and the citizens of the Marvel universe. The sense of emotion and dread in this has been evocative and Speedball’s sense of helplessness is a lot more palatable, realistic emotionally, and identifiable than that of Captain America or Spider-Man in the recent Fear Itself main series.

The backup stories have been a bit hit and miss, but the real heart is the main story which could have been it’s own mini.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
