DC New 52 Fever has really diminished my interest in this series. The overwhelming amount of negative reaction from other fans on this site has really diminished my interest in this series.

But I’ll be damned if I didn’t smile by the time I reached the end of this issue.

I’m not gonna sit here and be a Fear Itself apologist — outside of Immonen’s art, it is not great. There were more than a couple lines of dialogue I had to re-read or read out loud in order to understand the meaning, and I feel like Fraction’s pace has been a bit off this whole time.

But I also don’t think this is the shittiest piece of shitty shit to ever be shat out onto shelves.

It’s lighter fare than was initially promised, but I’m still having fun with it.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 5 - Excellent

Comments

  1. The art looked a bit rushed here compared the the first issue, but this was an improvement, I don’t really get why it took 6 issues to get here though, this should be issue three or four.

  2. Ratings are still off, I guess. Should read:

    Story: 3 – Good
    Art: 5 – Excellent
