There’s a moment in this issue (two times actually) where a character cries on panel and I almost cried as well. Give Hickman credit in that with Johnny Storm back into the Marvel U (as B.S. as it was all a marketing stunt) was handled nicely here. Hickman does not waste much time once Johnny is back and we literally get thrown into a space battle by the end of this. So much is going on in this issue it can be a bit jarring but for the most part Hickman writes it to not confuse anyone. Also, I love the fact that Annihilus is not resorted to being Johnny’s ‘dog’ and hissing at any opportunity.

I can’t really say much else that won’t be covered by other, better reviews. The story in this is entertaining and the art by Epting is fucking brilliant as ever. It is a bit surprising that Hickman has to seemingly rush to get the story going even with the big return. But it doesn’t detract too much from what continues to be one of the best Fantastic Four runs in the team’s history.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
