I confess, I never read a JSA book in my entire life. So when this title was announced for the second wave I was eager to check it out. So it’s with little knowledge of the golden age characters that I read this book.

Similar, yet different are the first thing that came to mind. It reprises a major event from the first JL arc written by Johns and illustrated by Lee that marked the beginning of the New 52, but with a “What If?” twist. What if the heroes won but at the price of their lives…?

So, heroically, the trinity sacrifices itself to save mankind from Apokolips and now, heroes are once again needed.

In this issue we are introduced to Jay Garrick and Alan Scott, whom are destined to become the Flash and the Green Lantern of Earth 2. And yeah, it worked for me, I totally digged the setting and will wait impatiently for issue #2!

As for Nicola Scott on art. Just google a preview of this and your mouth will hang open for several seconds of pure awe!

Highly recommended!
