This was easily the best thing I read all week, and there were some strong contenders (Action Comics, Daredevil, Hawkeye, Swamp Thing, Stormwatch among them).

Smart, dense, endlessly creative, subtextually interesting, characterful, surprising…this is everything comics is supposed to be. China Mieville is putting out the best comic month after month in the DC stable, and 4 issues in I have no idea where we’re going or how we’ll get there, but I know that I love these characters, I’m awed by this world, and I’m deeply affected by the personal nature of even the grandest concepts contained therein.
