As a pretty new reader, only about a year, I have been a huge fan of the Batbooks.  They seem to keep me entertained and I continue to pick up the titles.  I have to admit that I was upset when I found out that Bruce wasn’t going to be in the upcoming books.  Well he’s kind of dead I guess….  I was even more upset when I heard that Batman wasn’t the focus of Detective Comics anymore.  I had never even heard of Batwoman.  I wasn’t looking forward to this and I didn’t want to pick it up.  Then I remembered who was writing it.  I have only heard praise about this writer.  I’ve only read a few things from him, but I enjoyed them.  Rucka has made me care about a character that I did not even want to look at.  This story was such a great introduction that I cannot wait for the next issue.  The relationship with her father is going to be very interesting.  I hope that he continues to be an active character in this book. This is by far the best story I’ve read since I’ve been back into comics and by far the best new Batbook.

And now on to the art…….

WOW!!!!!  Completely brilliant.  Not only does Kate look amazing the whole book does.  I cant really do it justice.  You have to see this.  Its amazing.

Is it possible to give the book 100/100?

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 5 - Excellent

  1. I wasn’t all that happy to find out about Bruce buying the farm either.  The only time I really read Nightwing was if it was a big crossover into the regular Bat-books so I never really got down with Grayson too much at all.  I guess now that he is Batman, that is going to have to change.  I just can’t decide if that is good or bad because Nightwing wasn’t that great of a book to me.

This new Detective run seems great so far though.  I was kinda pissed to hear Dini wasn’t doing Detective anymore but once I heard about Streets Of Gotham, it didn’t matter!

I could’ve cared less about the back up story though.
