Handily my favorite book of this weeks batch, and so, so much better than Cornell’s Stormwatch.

The story seemed a bit cramped, and I feel this could have used a few more pages, but you still get a decent enough understanding of these characters and the world they are in. The Jason Blood/Madame Xanadu/Etrigan love triangle is a hoot, and was my favorite part of this book. It’s over the top fun, which includes a demon possessed exploding baby, Vandal Savage badassing around, plunder, pillaging, Etrigan (Sadly, not speaking in rhyme), and a nice bit of dark humor.

The art is fanfreakingtastic. This book is beautiful, and is tied for the best looking so far (With the otherwise lousy Detective Comics #1), if not the best.

I’m really, really looking forward to the next issue, and seeing where this story goes.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
