There was very little to recommend during and after Secret Invasion.

The main event was so disappointing in so many ways and a lot of the tie-in’s werent very good. There were a few bright spots like Black Panther or Captain Britain but let’s be honest…it was pretty bleak during the 9 months Marvel published that event.

That is….until by the gods of Marvel themselves realised what we needed in life….was a good laugh. So what they did was get Daniel Way a writer who showed his chops on a certain Merc with a Mouth in a arc for Wolverine: Origins and then gave us Paco Medina the artist who brings a cartoony visual where ever he goes…and gave us: Deadpool vol. 3

Obviously over the last few months I have been discussing and reviewing on why I love this series so much. All you have to know is that if you want humor in your comic book, Daniel Way delivers. Now I know everyone seems to think Way is a medicore to bad writer….and I would agree with you on some levels. But sometimes a writer can be medicore with some characters, but be great with others. Clearly Way was born to write Deadpool; it’s obvious with the 10th grade type of humor we get here. But Way does more then just give us pop culture jokes or slapstick jokes; he gives us a good reason on why Deadpool is a great character if used properly. Deadpool might be clinically insane, but there is no denying he has the smarts to fool everyone and have a plan before anyone else knows it.

This trade collects the Secret Invasion arc and the ‘Horror Business’ two issue arc. I have been praising both Way and Medina for months now and it’s just hard to think of new ways to praise both men. Good writing, great art, fantastic colors…..what else do you want me to say about this series? It’s definitely worth your time and for a price of $10 at Amazon…that’s a good deal for a Hardcover…

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
