I couldn’t believe it myself when I thought that dropping this book was a possibility. It still is a possibility but I was hoping this issue could bring back some life into this series. Well we got a bunch of reasons why this series is saved for another month. They go:

1) Macho Gomez! I love this new character and I’m glad he might be a recurring villain in the future. A huge stereotypical character but he’s just too good to die right now.

2) Sheldon Vella! I am so excited that Vella came back to finish this Gomez/Deadpool fight. He is just an amazing artist and I’m shocked he hasn’t be asked to be an exclusive for Marvel yet. He has a weird style that is just too hard to explain. Somewhat cartoony, somewhat magna-esque, and damn bright with great coloring by Nick Filardi. From the random Deadpool vision jokes to the enormous fight sequence in this, he’s just perfect for the book. Also, great job by Joe Sabino as the letterer for making the special effect noises mimick the actions. Although that could be Vella literally drawing the effects in. Either way, like how Frank Quitely did it, it’s cool to look at.

3) Reunions! I loved this issue because we saw a lot of fimiliar faces in this. Agent Bob, Weasel, Taskmaster, Blind Al, Big Bartha (Great Lakes Avengers), Blind Al, and even fucking Sluggo is in this. I love it that Way is finally addressing the fact that Deadpool has harmed these people more then be friends. It’ll be interesting to see where this goes because it feels like Way is clearing these characters away for the time being. I hope that isn’t the case though. I want more Great Lakes Avengers in my life!

Overall this was a fun and gorgreous book to look at. It’s survived the chopping block because this was just too much fun for words. Let’s hope, judging from the cover, that next issue is going to be a blast as well.
