I read the “Light Week?” article and saw what Conor said about Fabian Nicieza. I was going to buy this issue anyway because of the sort of Teen Titans tie in, but reading that just assured me that this would be a great issue. DCU Presents #12 was great fun. The story didn’t try to take any plot points from Teen Titans that would confuse you. It’s just Kid Flash by himself trying to stop a “reptile supremesis” with the help of an Australian lizard dude. The big big big reason I loved this issue was Jorge Jimenez’s pencils and Guy Major’s colors. The way he uses Kid Flash’s speed to draw panels is better than I’ve seen in the Flash comic recently. There’s a page spread of Bart running through the city and there are other panels that show his stops along the way and you’re looking from above (Grand Theft Auto 1 style) and then he jumps out at youMy brain is in overload trying to describe how awesomely fun this issue is! I’ve heard rumors that there may be a Damien Wayne solo book in the future and this team would be perfect on something like that. This book is my pick of the week because it so exceeded my expectations.
