Excuse me while I try to catch my breath after reading this issue. There is one question I have to ask after reading this issue, “What can they do in the next issue that can end this story any better than this issue?” The only answer that I can come up with is, “I just can’t wait to find out.” In this issue I was able to understand where this story is leading to. This is a story about Bras’ nostalgia. His dreamlike trip through the different points in his life that tell simple but powerful lessons about the meaning of his life.

I really like the mystery about this book. You can’t tell even with this issue if this is a dream, or that this is like a extended flash of a person’s life before his death. Whichever it is I don’t really care because the power of emotion that I get from reading this issue hits like a jackhammer where other issues hit you like a baseball bat. Between the excellent story and the great art this is basically the best book of the year. What can you say when even the mediocre paper still allows the art to look so good. I can only assume that this is Vertigo’s safety measure because if this was on better paper they’d get sued from having so many eyeballs popping out.

If there is any doubt that whether to pick up this book when its collected I’d say that you have no heart if you don’t pick this up because its always good to have a great story to help you put your life in perspective.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 5 - Excellent
