  1. Haven’t read it yet, but do you think perhaps some of the dialogue was lost in translation, so to speak?  I think that was brought up when the first issue came out…

  2. @vadamowens: I’m ok with lost in translation.  But the premise behind said dialog was hokey.  Again, not hokey enough to make it a bad read, it was just a noticable depreciation in writing on that one page.

  3. Solid review akamuu.  Couldn’t have said it better (tho I tried on the main page ha ha), but I certainly hope the book hasn’t already peaked and that this was just a down issue.  Coz I really liked the first two issues.  But you’re right, the death in this reminded of my favorite Xena episode, she gets caught in a groundhog day repeating day, at first when you didn’t know what was going on you’d be shocked by a death, but near the end Xena made me laugh because after she got out of bed the first thing she would do would be to kill her friend Joxer so he wouldn’t annoy her all day.  That’s what I call "death drained of any emotional resonance".

  4. You make good points. I actually like the dialogue, I think it speaks to the character’s mopey nature and gloomy pensive ways. But, sure, I could see it being too much for some people. The death scene was "drained of any emotional resonance" though,I’d agree. I just really like the character and the art and setting. But there was a panel where I thought his head was way smaller than his friend’s massive mellon. I thought it was that one brother drew one and the other brother drew the other character.

  5. In regards to the review, I believe it is Salvador da Bahia, a coastal city in Brasil, not El Salvador.
