Writers love writing villains who over-explain their plans.  It’s a Bond film/comic book cliche that’s been around for decades.  These days, if it pops up, it’s either satire, canon, or bad writing.   Issue two opens up with, essentially, a firing squad targeting Elektra, and the commander taunts her, in such a way that one would never taunt someone that he identifies as “an omega level threat”.   Someone who, otherwise, seems extremely intelligent and knowledgable, would kill the target immediately.  He doesn’t.  And, so, the issue doesn’t end three pages in.  It does get better from there, though.  And ends up being a fun little popcorn book.  The interior art in the book is pretty par (between subpar and superpar).  The cover would be great is Bermejo didn’t draw Elektra cross-eyed.  My god, she’s a ninja.  I know she’s injured, but he makes her look her parents were cousins.  And the preview of next month’s cover doesn’t look much better.

  1. Fun review!

    "par" 😛

  2. It’s better than a bogey.

  3. Better than par, but shy of a birdie. <golf analogy explodes due to its integer nature>
