  1. For me it felt off starting with the first page. I really wasn’t coming to this book wanting to see a double page spread of Matt Murdock getting a blunt object slammed through his head. Why the hell isn’t this a Max book? How does it get a T+ rating? This kind of lazy gore has become a real deal breaker for me.

Yikes. I was playing wait-and-see on this one. Bendis has underwhelmed if not outright annoyed me for several years now, with a few exceptions. But I love his older stuff, particularly his DD run. I was hoping for a return to form.

  3. Limitless Limitless says:

Makes me glad I didn’t pick it up today.

  4. Mordecai Mordecai says:

Hmm, sounds like i made the right choice not picking this up.

  5. sitara119 sitara119 says:

i totally agree. i loved Bendis’ DD run, but this did not recapture any magic on my end. just terrible. the worst DD book i’ve read since one of the Shadowland books.

  6. BradLWoods3 BradLWoods3 says:

I love Klaus Janson. I love Bill Sienkiewicz. But I’m not crazy about them together. At least not here. For me Janson’s loopiness gets lost in Bill’s grittiness. Storywise this was a decent opener. It raised questions that made me want to return for the answers. I’ll stick around for the eight issue duration.

  7. JasonTodd JasonTodd says:

Yeah, I can’t believe so many people are making this their pick of the week. This was terrible.

I didn’t read any comments/reviews on this until I got home from the comic shop today.

I paged through this book and was turned-off by the art. Looks like I would have been turned-off by the story, too.

Glad I skipped it, but may check it our in TPB form … IF the art improves.
