If you’d have told me four years ago that I’d have opinions about who was writing the best rape zombie comics, I’d probably have stopped talking to you for at least a week. But Garth Ennis is able to draw me into the characters of Crossed in a way that David Lapham can’t.

I didn’t get a chance to read the first issue of this comic, and, as usual with Ennis comics, it doesn’t seem to matter. He grabs you on the first page and doesn’t give you reason to put the book down until the last page.

The zombies don’t even appear in this issue, and it’s still all kinds of creepy.

Jacen Burrows’s art is top notch, too.
