I want to know who is responsible for all this shitty writing towards the end of this book.  I can’t fathom Dini or Beechen producing something this bad.  As someone commented Rat People seriously??

The art was okay in this book, but still nothing fantastic and there were a lot of goofy looking panels.

Why do I keep writing reviews when I so clearly hate this book?  I really hope that someone who is responsible for this piece of trash, which was once a good book, responds to my cries.  I would really like to know why it’s so bad at this point.  Is it the big wigs at DC?  Is it really Dini, I’d hate to take him off of one of my favorite writers lists, but this book is killing his credibility to weave a good story.

Lastly as far as I am concerned there were two things that this issue boils down to:

– The Challengers seriously fucked up one of the worlds and like idiots they move to another one to spread this “Disaster”

– Una died – Good riddance.

The only reason I continue to get this book is because the collector in me screams out whenever I try not to with it being so close to the end.  I also sit in hopes that something big happens in these last 4 issues that will be pivotal in Final Crisis.  I’m sorry but Rat People and Dogs with Kitchen knives are not that scary to me, it’s outrageous.

Please sweet release come soon…

Also I ask anyone to please correct me if I am wrong about this book.  I will be surprised to see any takers with the comments on this site.

Edit:  I realized and also it was confirmed by another iFanboy, thanks kahunablair, that this is suppose to be the beginning of Kamandi.  Even though I am not a fan, I do appreciate this throw back.  I actually raised the story up one to average because of it.  This will honestly be one of the very few times I change my stance on a book, but I am willing to at least admit that I was partially wrong about it.  -JM

  1. Good review.  This was so awful that in less than a day, I had forgotten about the dog with the kitchen knife until I read this review.  Wake me when this series is over, so I can lament the amount of money I have spent on this turd of a series.

  2. I did the math, I almost threw up when I did.

  3. Thank god I didn’t buy into this garbage. I take pride in the fact that I dropped it after issue #51.

  4. This series can’t end soon enough. Maybe that’s why it’s called Countdown.
