Truth be told: this was my first ever Conan comic. I started to get more curious about with Josh highlighting another Conan book over the past couple months and since Brian Wood’s book at Marvel was just not my cup of tea, I decided to give this one a try.

That said, this story seemed like absolutely nothing new. But I actually enjoyed it. Wood took a simple and told story line and crafted an excellent tale that makes me want to keep reading and forget that I have heard this story before.

The main sell of this book was the art. Although it was unexpected to see Conan look young and drawn that way, I was quickly over it. The art had me gasping as it really sold the story and felt like I was watching a movie. I just loved it.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent

In fairness, it’s an adaptation of a classic Conan story.
