In a world that lacks enough Clive Barker based imaginings this book meets the need. It tells the tale of a man that follows what he believes to be ‘blind faith’ which leads him to the discovery of a long forgotten god. In typical Barker form it mixes mythos, religion, pain and pleasure, and, horror. This is the Barker that’s been missing since his books Galilee and Sacrament. Mark Miller does his typical film treatment style to the story and Haemi Jang does a nice job on the art. Jang captures the beauty to be found in ugliness and suffering well. It’s not too pretty but yet oddly beautiful. I’m glad to see this in the racks and even more so that Barker is back on form. I look forward to where Boom! Will take this and glad they put it out there at all.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good

  1. I picked this up just so I went over the minimum amount to pay using your card and loved it! I adored the Hellraiser comics and this felt a lit like them, just with nice clean artwork that doesn’t hide everything behind a layer of grunge. Here’s hoping they don’t screw it up…..
