Both artwise and storywise Cinderella Of Fables harkens back to the early Fables arcs much more than either the flagship title or Jack Of Fables.  In some ways it’s a welcome relief.  But, while there have been some recent missteps in the Fables series, overall it’s evolved into something more complex, and darker than what Cinderella offers.  That’s neither a reccomendation nor a condemnation.  If the new Fables turns you off, but you loved the early stuff, you should check this out.  If you think the series started bad, but you’re hooked now, you may want to trade wait this one.

    This is good, but not as compelling as I would have hoped. I like Cinderella – she is one of my favorite Fables characters. However, I just get the feeling that this series is written for Fables newbies rather than long-time Fables fans, and that turns me off a little.

    I think you’re right Coltrane.  And I’m ok with that.  We’ll see if her story gets tied back into the main one at some point.  And, if so, if it’s done a little better than that horrid Jack Of Fables crossover.
