If I got to this series by the time #3 came out originally; this would’ve hands down been my pick of the week.

I picked up the more recent issue last week and I enjoyed the series very much. But I didn’t really see how it can be that big of a sleeper hit. Don’t get me wrong, the forth issue was very good but it didn’t stand out to me. Then I decided to pick this issue up (cause let’s be honest; I’ll never find any physical copy of #1 and #2) and this was so much better then the recent issue.

The universe Layman writes is really intriguing, especially when you add this female character with a more outragous condition.  But what I loved with this is the humor in this. The banter between Chu and his partner is funny, the boss Chu works for is hilarious, and Layman just thinks of funny conclusions to events. That vomit hitting Chu towards the end had me in tears. Then you add in the fantastic art by Guillory and this makes it even more funny to read. It’s a very simple looking design and very cartoony in a lot of ways. But Guillory adds in an enormous amont of detail to show how unique his style really is.

With this issue at hand I am totally on board for reading this series. It’s rare to have a comic that has this much imagination and humor blended in. I’m not particularly worried how Layman/Guillory can keep this pace up like some readers are. As long as it makes me laugh I’ll stick by this.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 5 - Excellent
