The first issue of this mini was a nice start. It had action, a good set up for things to come, and absolutely fantastic artwork. But it did feel a bit light on content and if you never read Incredible Hercules before, you would probably get confused over these events. With this issue, however, Pak/Van Lente dials up the awesomeness to 11 with this issue.

In fact I love it how grim this storyline has becomed. Usually with events it does get bad for the heroes, but it still has some type of shining light for them. Here though, the shit hits the fan right away and it only gets worse. The guys make it entertaining though and I like it how the team assembled here (GOD SQUAD!) is really just a random assortment of space and magic characters. Yes this is more of a ‘assembling the team’ issue; but again the guys here make it interesting and not too obvious. Also, the art for this is still amazing gorgeous; in fact it could be even better then last issue! (If that’s possible…) Pham has really knocked this mini out of the park so far and it only gets better page after page you flip threw.

So this issue rachets up the excitement and continues the gorgeous artwork from the first issue. If Pak, Lente, and Pham can continue the level of quality for the rest of this mini then you can count me as one happy Hercules fan once again.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
