Well, I guess you can say it's pretty, but
beyond that, I'm failing to see the appeal of this particular issue.
I
love Quitely and he did a really good job with the body movements of
Prof. Pyg, but the story was lacking.
Did you ever try to watch an Andy
Warhol film? I picked up a couple of his works that Criterion
Collection treatment a few years ago to give them a try. They were so
full of themselves and had their head so firmly stuck up their ass that
I gave up about 10 minutes in and sold them off to buy Robocop on
Criterion. There's a time and a place for arty farty stuff, but Batman
is not it.
If I pick it apart, I liked the stuff with Gordon, I
appreciate that the partnership is coming together. The quiet scene
with Alfred was nice. But I hate the villain and the entire story just
seemed overly weird for the sake of weirdness.
Will I keep buying it?
Yeah probably, but that's because I keep having faith that it will pay
off at some point.
