I would like to start this review stating that the Marvel .1 idea is like communism. Good in theory but when practiced…eh.

Anyway, Cap 615.1 was okay. If you haven’t been reading Cap or even Steve Rogers: Super Soldier, you might miss a lot going on. It raps up both the current story arc (which hasn’t finished) and Super Soldier story arc. The pacing and story have a lot of action and moves quickly with a surprise reveal at the end.

I really enjoyed the first few pages of Butch Guice’s art, but as I kept moving along the face of both Steve and faux Cap, seemed a little wrinkled. It seems Guice inked his own pencils, so unfortunately he solely to blame. I’ve really liked his art in the past, so needless to say I was a bit disappointed.

Brubaker’s story was good, and seemed to give the push that this series has needed. It seemed within the past handful of issues Brubaker was stuck in a rut. I hope after this, the series starts picking up steam again.

Overall this a good regular issue for Cap, but not a good jumping on point for anyone.

Story: 2 - Average
Art: 3 - Good
