Rick Remender is taking Captain America in a bold new direction, and I like it. A throwback to the zany 70s Cap, this issue finally lets Zola know that Steve didn't just kill his son but instead took and raised him as his own. It's more personal than ever, and when Steve is at his lowest (and Zola is at his most taunting), Captain America digs deeper (literally) to cut out the Zola virus growing in his chest and save Ian. Because Captain America doesn't give up, and Steve will not repeat the missteps of his father. That last splash page was one of those "Hell Yeah!" moments that comics far too often lack these days, aided in no small part by the always awesome John Romita Jr, et. al. on art. This relaunch has been absolutely fantastic!
