Another excellent issue of Karl Kesel’s CANFNS. Four weeks of “dailies” and four “Sunday” strips. Beautiful timeless cover by Butch Guice. Same great slightly cartoony art, same great tertiary color, same newspaper-adventure-strip dialogue. A well-done book in a fun format. And I don’t think it’s too much of a spoiler to say that the big event which must take place at the end of Act Two is properly placed on the last page in the last panel. If you’ve been reading this book, I’m sure you’ve already guessed what the big reveal must be. Even so, although we’ve been waiting for it since around the middle of the last issue, it’s quite nicely done. This is a good comic, great for anybody who wants to enjoy the Cap legend without taking on an open-ended run. Fun. Well worth the four bucks, and there’s no way I thought I’d ever say that. (Oh and there are also a couple of nice twists, too, so don’t think you’ve already guessed everything.) Five bright white American stars of victory.
