Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn.  This isn’t the prelude to anything.  This is the same issue you’ve read 12 out of 23 times.  It’s all filler until they bring Cable back to the present.  Do yourself a favor and skip it.

Story: 1 - Poor
Art: 3 - Good

  1. i didnt really pay attention, but is this the same artist as last issue? i picked it up off the shelf last month to look at art and it looked so unprofessional. I guess i would expect more from Marvel.

  2. I believe it is.  I feel like they put him on because his art is very similar to the last artist’s.  TO be honest, the story has bored me so much that I almost don’t see the art.

  3. I don’t like Guzman. I thought this was a very solid version of the same story they tell over and over, with a decent call back to issue #5 of the series. I bet if you jumped on at 21 you are having a blast (although the callback would probably do nothing for you). I find it hard to believe Swierczynski sat down every month for two years and said, you know what I want to do.. the exact same story as last month! I sense meetings with X-title editors… meetings where ideas were pitched, some good, some bad… And the response every time was: That’s great, Duane. Really good stuff. But we just want Cable running from Bishop, no fancy stuff. Age Hope to 15-16 years old, show her develop, and then bring it all back home issue 25 with Bishop still chasing Cable. That’s what we want. — Maybe at this point he protests and then the Editor shows him the outline to Second Coming with the warning, seriously D.S., you fuck this up and you are writing Power Pack for the remainder of your contract.
