I enjoyed this issue, don’t get me wrong, but I think the wait for this issue wasn’t worth it.  It’s a good issue, but nothing spectacular when it comes to the issues before it.

I liked how everything wrapped up this issue, I especially like the real reason Buffy was pulled to the future.  It made a lot of sense in the grand scheme of things.  I also loved Xander’s line about his squad showing back up, but overall this issue didn’t seem good enough to make up for the wait.  Sure I heard that Whedon’s excuse was, “Oops I’m writing a Buffy comic aren’t I.”  You would think since he forgot he would make this issue pop more.

I might be going a little harsh on this comic, especially when we’ve had other things that have been much later *ahem* All Star Batman and Robin *ahem* But Whedon and his other contemporaries on this book have set a bar and when it’s late I guess I expect it to be raised.

Also it doesn’t help that this issue brought back a character that I thought was stupid in the TV series and still think is stupid now.  Is it bad that a single character along with a little lateness on a book can turn me so quickly.  When I read the reveal that he was back I went, oh great him.

Alright enough bashing on the lateness and highered expectations.  Karl Moline’s art looked fantastic in this issue.  I really hope he sticks around for a while since I don’t want to see Buffy and Gang drawn any other way.

Overall I’m glad this arc is over, most of it was confusing to me till the end, but that’s Whedon sometimes.  I’m really excited to hopefully find out more on our mystery villian.
