I’ve never read the original Brave and the Bold, but from what I’ve gathered here is that it’s probably just as entertaining as this new series. I went in to the first volume not expecting much, but man was I entertained threw-out. Now sure it had some problems, like weird panel layouts, but overall I enjoyed it very much. Since I’m behind on issues I’ve taken the second issue in and hopefully the team ups are just as interesting.

Well I know some people were groaning because this volume also contains the ‘Book of Destiny’ in it….Wasnt the first volume also the same plot device? Okay so right now the story really isnt new, but the team ups were sure interesting. Wonder Woman/Power Girl? Flash/Doom Patrol? Superman/Ultraman? Man those are really great ideas for team-ups, and that’s not even half of it! The story is still a little shaky, and those panel lay-outs can be a bit of a mess. But the writing isnt bad and there can be a lot of humor in this.

I’m more looking forward to the next volume only because the idea of a Batman/Jay Garrick team up sounds so good. But if the team-ups keep being as original as these two volumes were. There’s no reason not to give this series a try. Hey it may not be in continuity, and it’s not the most perfect thing out there…..It’s fun, and sometimes we need to have fun in a comic and not be too serious.
