If you are a fan of Booster Gold or the “Kingdom Come” books, then you just might like this issue of Brave and the Bold.  Having never read any of the “Kingdom” books, I have a feeling that there was more to this than just the story.  As a story itself, it was ok.  Magog, now working with the JSA, shows up in Khandaq to handle a hostage situation.  Booster Gold doesn’t trust him and follows after him.  Stuff blows up, people get smacked around.  Magog growls a lot, tells Khandaqi soldiers to shut up and let him do his thing.  Truthfully, I almost thought this was a “Cable” book in DC clothing- misunderstood, heavily armed (as in human “arms” and weapon “arms”) soldier from the future shows up in our time to kick ass and take names, other heroes think he’s a psycho and constantly hound him.  Also, and maybe I read this wrong, Jurgens seems to imply that the “Kingdom Come” stories are the future of Earth-1.  I thought these took place on a different Earth.  Again, haven’t read the books so don’t fully understand what’s going on.  This has been a trend lately at DC (books that are strongly tied to other stories) and one that is not new-reader friendly.  But, I have to reiterate, if you like “Kingdome Come” then there is likely a lot more depth to this story.

Story: 3 - Good
