BRAVE AND THE BOLD #22

If you only pick this book up for the art, it’s well worth the money.  Braithwaite and Reinhold create an absolutely beautiful comic; every page is a painting unto itself, and the crystaline landscape of the young girls mind is the icing on the cake.  While the story itself was very emotional without being schmaltzy, overall it has just gone too many places over the course of the arc and its been hard to remember all the different elements and how they connect.  Green Arrow’s involvement was very minimal; in reality this is a Green Lantern/Phantom Stranger story and has been throughout.  Lantern and Arrow don’t have any interaction, and Ollie’s inclusion seems to be primarily because he’s the “bleeding heart liberal” of the DCU as well as to sell people on this being a GL/GA team up.  But, once again, the art is worth the price of admission.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
