Wednesday Comics #3 (OF 12)

The Titans strip fails on every level. I have no idea where Gaiman is going with the metamorpho strip. Arcudi and Bermejo's superman is mawkish overwrought melodrama. And this is still brilliant. Gibbons and Sook's Kamandi is hilarious, Paul Pope seemed to be channeling Frank Quitely more than usual this week, Kerschl's strip continues to be the best flash in years, and even clunkers like Azarello and Risso's Batman or the interesting panel layouts but unreadable lettering style of Caldwell;s wonder woman don't detract from the sheer creative joy of a project like this.
