“Criminals are a superstitious cowardly lot…”

This story gives us a glimpse at the rusted, barbwire-covered jungle gym that makes up the minds of three of Batman’s greatest foes. The story is entertaining, and it demonstrates that while Batman is a master of hand-to-hand combat, his greatest strength is his command of psychological warfare.

The surprise ending is obvious by page 3, but that doesn’t diminish the story’s impact. The cherry on this sundae is The Journey, not The Destination.

  1. I found Kudranski’s art really cool sometimes, but really difficult to follow other times. Wasn’t always sure who everyone was. But he certainly had the mood right.
