As per usual, don’t believe the solicits for this title.  This is a fun little wrap up of The Carpenter/Director storyline from the last issue.  It’s a hokey villain, but it’s Dini-style hokey, which I enjoy.

I am very interested to see how this series is going to play into The Return Of Bruce Wayne.  The stage seems to be set for some important events to take place in this title.

The solicit IS correct in saying this is the final part of the current Manhunter storyline.  I haven’t been reading it in every issue, so I’m missing a lot of the story, but this issue made me curious to see if and how DC will collect it for trade purposes.  Apart from some odd lighting choices, I like the art enough that I’d pick it up.

  1. Do we at least get to see Batman punch someone in the face like in the cover?

  2. Sadly, no.  BUt he does hold something sharp up to someone else’s neck.  And it’s implied that he does some off panel punching.

  3. I’m so pissed.  I’m not bothering with this issue.  I’m so on board for the Heart Of Hush sequel whenever and IF ever it starts though!!  I’m totally down for a Two Face backup as well, if that rumor is also true…

  4. So Hush doesn’t appear at all?

  5. @Cedric: He’s in it briefly.  But it’s mainly just a set-up for (I presume) the next issue.
