So, can someone tell me what was the point?  The writing improves slightly in places and Daniel's art manages to be decent on two occasions (liked the design on the Black Mask page and then the final shot). However, Daniel has clearly never heard the expression, "less is more," given the fact that he telegraphs every emotion felt by the characters with pointless thought boxes.  Think about how, in movies, actors convey emotions not by talking about things but by letting their expression convey their feelings.  With a good writer and artist combination comics are able to do exactly the same thing (although it may be harder to do well in this medium).  The last page was almost a nice moment, but it was lost on me because I was so bored by the psychological twaddle spouted through the pages before.

I love the fact that Dick will be the replacement Batman, there's no one that can say that's not the natural, correct way to go.  However, we knew it was him in our hearts months ago, and the Quitely preview art confirmed that fact.  If it had been done really well, I could have forgiven this crossover it's pointlessness, but I'm afraid it really wasn't.  I'm left feeling that the whole thing was redundant.  No wonder Morrison was nowhere to be seen.
