I know Two Face was up to something when I finished Batman #689, and now it really is starting to pay off when I finished reading Batman #690. I love Two Face's new Batman suit. I doubt it is going to be a permanent thing so I'm going to enjoy it while I still can. I'm guessing Two Face knows that the original Batman was none other than Bruce Wayne now that he has found himself in the cave under Wayne Manor. I loved what Two Face did with the giant penny! That is classic! Two Face is the man. The part where the transporter guys who couldn't help out too much got a bonus for their time. "I'm just muscle, yep."

Two Face isn't the only character in Winnick's arc that are currently making moves. Black Mask has been on the map since Battle For The Cowl. Whoever this new Black Mask is. Didn't Catwoman kill the original? I must've missed that story but I think that is what happened.
The new Black Mask has Penguin under his control now. Wow, Black Mask has a lot of folks under his control now! I think Firefly and Mister Freeze were the only ones to break free from his spell, but there already on their way back to Arkham. I think it is safe to say that the new Black Mask and Two Face are going to be at war for Gotham for a while. I don't care who wins in the end as long as the issues of Batman stay this fun getting there. Hopefully Tony Daniel learned what made BFTC so dull and doesn't end up making me drop this title in the coming months because it is on a roll right now.

I don't have anything against Bagley. He is definitely more of an Ultimate Spidey kind of guy but he doesn't hurt my eyes any with what he does with Gotham-related characters. I kind of like his rendition of Two Face. It is just a tad bit cartoony but not enough to fuck it up. I could get used to this guy being on Batman.

All this and Batman stays costing only $3. I really enjoyed this issue. It was the first book in my stack I read so I have no idea if it can be proclaimed as Pick Of The Week material, but I'm happy and I definitely got my $2.99 worth because I could read this one again tomorrow and enjoy it just as much.

Glad you’re enjoying it. Prevailing theories suggest that the new Black Mask is Jason Todd. Certainly there was some intimation of that during Battle for the Cowl. As for Two-Face knowing who Batman is he only teleported into the cave, so unless he was there longer than we thought, I doubt he would have figured it out.

Two Face isn’t a teleporter. He had to get the teleporter person to teleport there, then she had to figure out where she was, then tell Two Face where she is somehow, then Two Face went there once he knew where to go. Seems to make more sense unless the teleporter chick can make them both teleport, that I don’t know. Hopefully it can be explained before Daniels takes over and everything gets all BLAH like BFTC.
