Stoked for this book! Synder’s run on Detective is an instant classic, and something I’ll definitely pick up in trades, but this isn’t about Detective, this is about the bat. I love the idea of Gotham as a character and possible villain. It’s new, as far as I can tell, and refreshing to know that even after 70 plus years of stories, writer are still finding ways to keep things going.

Capullo’s art is great. A mixture of Spawn and Haunt, (Image) my only nitpicking complaint is the panel with all four Wayne boys (Bruce, Dick, Tim, and Damian) is that Dick looks like a teenager that just got his driver’s license. I mean, he’s puny compared to “Dad”.

One aspect I do like across the Bat books is Bruce’s return to tech. He’s a billionaire crime fighter that should have access to all the latest gadgets, and I’m glad that’s been re-introduced in the relaunch.

Story: 5 - Excellent
