I was starting to get tired of this book but every now and then it’ll surprise you. Not since Zeb Wells first arc on this book have I gotten that Spider-Man is great friends with who he’s teaming with this month, though he wasn’t really “friends” with Red Hulk. Kelly Sue DeConnick does a good job of making this issue fun, but Terry Dodson’s art is my favorite thing about this story. He and Edgar Delgado’s coloring is like my favorite current Spider-Man artist, Humberto Ramos. After the next issue I’m dropping this book because I realized I don’t need to get this book every month, but only when a character or writer I truly like is in it. Why couldn’t Zeb Wells stay on this book? He really knows Spider-Man.

Story: 3 - Good

  1. I can understand that. It seemed that everyone was just talking to distract the reader from something, then Captain Marvel would punch the guy in the armored suit.

  2. Ditto. Avenging Spider-Man #9 was really fun! It had a silliness to it without being comedic that I enjoyed. Spider-Man and Ms-now-Captain Marvel are such an odd couple that I want to see more of them. Loved the colors in this issue. I really hope this helps boost Carol’s new series; I want her book to be succesful. $3.99 is still quite steep, though.
