This is not a spoiler. The last page of dialog has Hope asking The Avengers “Actually, uh, what’s the plan? Is there a plan?”. It seems a neat little wink to the audience. Bendis’s way of saying “We have no idea what we’re doing. Tune in next week.”

No, thanks.

I’m embarrassed for Marvel that they have reduced their very talented writers and artists, and their legacy characters to this. AvX is, at times, an interesting concept. But, as I’ve written before, it reads as though none of the writers have full access to the previous issues. That they have seen an outline, and heard plot points, but that’s it. The plot point on the penultimate page would be really interesting if it were in any other series but this was. It’s setting up a total game changer: going back to the way things once were!
