I like this series — Alan Heinberg is a hell of a comic writer, and Jim Cheung with without many equals — however, this story has blinked in and out of relevance to me. It took me until now to realize that it is so buried under continuity, that nothing about it stands alone for the average reader to enjoy. I guess that’s not bad for a lot of us, but after 25 years of comics-reading I’m fatigued with stories like this. When it’s all wrapped up, I’m going to wish this had been a rollicking stand-alone tale with great characters and great action, rather than retelling us things we might have read over the last decade.
