Avengers Arena continues it's mad dash towards the conclusion (Issue 18 I believe is the final issue?) and I'll be sorry to see this series end, but also happy that it won't overstay it's welcome. As per usual, Kev Walker kills it on the issues he is doing pencils for. I'm enjoying how the story is being told, but one issue I have is that the stakes have never really felt real, and that's not because it's a comic book and everyone always comes back to life, but it's because all the characters who have died haven't really been "important" with heavy air quotes. Most of them were the meat filled socks that everyone knew was going to die, and when by far the biggest fan favorite (Nico) was killed, it was reversed about as fast as it possibly could be, with the X-23/Cullen fight coming, I'm beginning to think there won't be any surprises in store during that fight.
