Avengers Academy is one of my favorite new comics. I love students. They’re all great characters and it’s been fun watching them learning lessons from the Academy, mischievously sneaking around at night, looking up their student files, and developing crushes on each other. It’s a fun book. However, this issue had none of that. The entire thing focused on Hank Pym bitching and moaning about Janet and all his mental problems that he has. The kids barely even showed up in the book. This was an Ant Man one shot and it was bad. I even like Hank Pym, but I like fun science Hank Pym not this sad sack of a human being. Let it go, can we move on just tell new stories instead of just dwelling on the past. How about new stories featuring characters that book is supposed to be about? This was the comic equivalent of that lonely guy who get’s drunk at the office christmas party and corners you as he tells you about all the divorces he has had. Hopefully this book get’s back on track with the next issue.
