The first two issues of this series didn’t really grab me all that much, but this issue has definitely shown me that there’s something worthwhile going on here.  I felt that the story really stepped up a notch in terms of the action and moving the story along.  I’m finally interested in what’s going on with the characters, and the fact that the team splits up to divide and conquer should provide some interesting storytelling.  There’s a few great moments and good zingers mixed into this issue, but the dialogue, overall, is just not gelling for me.  I almost feel like Bendis is trying too hard to be funny.  He makes Spider-Man sound kind of like a dumbass, and it seems that the Avengers are more interested in being snarky than really saving the day.  It’s a minor quibble because these forced moments are few and far between, but they are very noticeable.  JRJR’s art looks crisp and clean in this issue with very clear storytelling. There are some panels that lack real detail in them and seemed more rushed than others.  That, however, could be an inking or coloring issue more than anything else.  This is the type of story that JRJR should be drawing…I just wish we could get the JRJR that isn’t drawing 3 books at one time.  Overall, this was a solid issue that keeps me in the game a little bit longer.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 4 - Very Good
