Confession: I love Hickman.

He takes characters that I have little to know interest in or knowledge for and makes me love them. He did it with FF, he did it with Secret Warriors, and with any luck he is doing it again here with Avengers.

Here Hickman has managed to blend old standbys and new blood into a team I am excited to see grow.

While it does leave me confused at times, it also intrigues me and I am excited to see if these new and lesser known characters are embraced or hated by the fans.

There were some great page turns in this issue and even a funny moment or two. Opena’s art lends an eerie feel to the book that works fantastically with current arc.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
