I am LOVING what Hickman is doing with this book. He’s taking the same approach as he did with Fantastic Four. Not only is he reinventing the concept of the Avengers, he is bringing his own sense of wacky science into the mix. It’s everything I would want from Hickman in an Avengers book.

But man it is going to be hard to believe Marvel is going to let him keep this pace going. It makes sense why Uncanny Avengers is getting a bit more press than this book. Remender is just going for the action heavy approach to his Avengers book. A slow burn with a lot of talking heads is probably something most average comic fans aren’t willing to take. I’m not criticizing this series because of that because I love it. I just find it hard to believe Marvel will be this patient with the series if it keeps this pace.

This title sure has enough ‘purty’ images though for people to probably ignore the storytelling. Never been a major fan of Opena but good lord does he sway me with this book. I could look at this book all day with the gorgeous detail in each panel. Also, shout out to Dean White (and other) colorists. Probably one of the most colorful books you’ll ever look at thanks to him.
