Too much narration and explanation in this issue.  A huge disappointment after the exquisite first issue.

On the art side, there’s somehting about the characters’ mouths that bother me.  Each character has distinct facial structures, but they’re all somewhere between realistic and cartoonish exxageration.  Itkept taking me out of the art, and oushing me back to the narration boxes, where I resumed annoyance.

I’m not sure I care enough to pick up issue three.

    Akamuu, I wouldn’t give up on this series…but I have to agree with you and even add that this might be the worst issue of Astro City ever. 

    And with "Apollo 11" coming next issue, I dunno, it could get ugly!

    But seriously, this series has had some of my favorite comics of all time, so I’m willing to give Busiek and Anderson a mulligan.

    I’m with you on that Urthona, it has been, for the most part an aexcellent series.  It’s just that the last issue was so good, that this was just a resounding disappointment.

     

    I will probably flip through issue three, though.
