I’m a pretty big fan of Busiek’s Astro City series.   I’m not a big enough fan to have followed all of the Dark Ages, but I am keen to finding out the history of the Silver Agent.  This issue definitely delivered on that front.  This issue seems to take the series back to its roots.  It’s a story that investigates the thoughts, feelings, and final moments of Astro City’s greatest hero.  This feels like many of the classic Astro City stories that have come before, and I’m excited to be able to experience this story as it launches as opposed to in trade.  I found the story to be enjoyable, although it is missing some of the charm that comes with stories that take place in Astro City itself (this one takes place in space/the timestream).  The art by Anderson is what you would expect.  It’s not phenomenal, but it does the job.  It’s a recognizable look that can only mean you’re looking at Astro City.  Fans that may have dropped off during the Dark Ages should definitely check this issue out.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 3 - Good
