I don’t know what to say about this issue other than apparently Kaare Andrews thinks that Emma Frost is an over-sexed joke of a character. How else to explain her little exchange with Wolverine, where her grotesquely oversized boobs are filling the entire frame of some panels as she literally props them up on a seatback. Or the fact that the rest of the characters are drawn with interesting and in-character faces, while Emma has the face that looks like a cross between Hello Kitty & a blow-up doll. Or the fact that in the preview for next issue we see Emma’s more than ample cleavage covered in vomit.

I was laughing all the way through.

The rest of the issue is pretty standard Warren Ellis setup, with some pretty travelogue imagery in the background while Wolverine lectures on the politics of post-colonial Africa. Nothing much happens, and the issue ends before the X-Men have any more idea than we do about what the hell was going on in the first couple of pages.

Story: 3 - Good
