I have to admit I am a huge Alpha Flight fan and seeing a familiar face (Northstar) in another X book was great! This was the only reason I got this book and unlike other reviews I have read I wanted to share my feelings with you all on how this book effected me.
The story got a 3 rating because it seemed to be it was missing something like a gap, one second your with Northstar the next with gambit, I was a little taken back with the transition from the scenes and was left confused until Northstar and Wolvie showed up. it took me 10 minutes to read the book from cover to cover, normally takes 30 on average. Not much dialog. The conversation with Northstar and his boyfriend was great!, how Northstar tried to lean in for a kiss and his boyfriend does the whole talk to the hand routine, this was brilliantly drawn! well done. This is where art in a lot of books fails. I rely 50% on the story and 50% on the art to tell the story! this scene did it for me.
The art got a 4 because I don't remember Northstar with Vulcan ears, maybe he did, I don't know but I don't remember it! The rest of the art was nothing short of amazing, the use of shades and shadows and the detail, especially the opening scene and seeing the cut up face, was just great. I went back after reading just to look at it.
Story: 3 - Good
Art: 4 - Very Good

Dude, Northstar has had the pointed ears since Byrne drew his first appearance in Uncanny X-Men.
